The Dirty Truth About Revisions

2017-12-20

At Monster Mix Productions, we have "never" offered "free revisions". We have had clients ask us why since there are other companies who do - so we decided to let you in on a "dirty little secret". NO ONE is giving you free revisions. Many companies pad their pricing so that you are paying for them (whether you need them or not). We feel this is unfair pricing. We keep our costs low by not "assuming" you will need changes. This rewards those who do not and keeps pricing fair. We charge very minimal fees for revisions based on the amount of work necessary. Most revision charges are $35 - $50. We feel this is a more "fair" and upfront" way to do business with our clients.

It also brings up a grey area for companies who claim to offer free revisions. Most people think of a revision request as a set of changes. Maybe you need a section sped up, an extra 8-count in one area and you want to move a few sound effects. To us - that is "one" revision request. To a company who says they will give you "two" free revisions, they will say that speeding up one section and adding an 8-count takes up your two "free" revisions and you must now pay for changing your sound effects. That is how they get you! You paid more upfront cost and they are still charging you by each individual change (after two or so).

We recommend you compare costs and determine upfront how a company charges for revisions and how they "define" what that means.

At Monster Mix Productions, we never want to mislead anyone. We want to provide the best possible product for the lowest possible cost.
